2mmpb lead glass is the core thickness series of our medical grade radiation protection observation windows, with a product thickness of approximately 8mm-30mm and a protection equivalent of 1.5mmpmpmpf to 8mmpb. Product specifications can be customized. Made of high-purity optical grade lead glass (ZF2/ZF3 series) through precision melting and double-sided optical polishing. This thickness range covers the complete protection requirements from low-energy dental X-rays to high-energy CT/interventional treatments, and is a standard configuration for observation windows in hospital radiology departments, imaging centers, and industrial testing rooms.
Glass contains a high proportion of lead oxide (PbO), which ensures excellent visible light transmittance (≥ 85%) while providing stable and reliable shielding attenuation for X-rays and gamma rays, balancing protection safety and visual clarity.

Lead Glass
ZF2 and ZF3 lead glass are standard configurations for medical radiation protection observation windows. ZF2 excels in high transparency and clarity, while ZF3 excels in high lead equivalent and high protection. Both cannot be tempered and need to be installed with lead frames. When selecting, please match them comprehensively based on radiation energy, space conditions, and visual needs.
| Thickness | ZF2 | ZF3 | Applicable radiation energy | Typical Scenario |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8mm | ≈ 1.7 mmPb | ≈ 1.9 mmPb | ≤ 120kV | Dental X-rays, pet hospitals |
| 10mm | ≈ 2.1 mmPb | ≈ 2.4 mmPb | ≤ 150kV | DR photography room, physical examination center |
| 12mm | ≈ 2.5 mmPb | ≈ 2.9 mmPb | ≤ 150kV | Digital Gastrointestinal and Conventional CT Observation Window |
| 15mm | ≈ 3.2 mmPb | ≈ 3.6 mmPb | ≤ 150kV | CT scanning room, interventional treatment room |
| 18mm | ≈ 3.8 mmPb | ≈ 4.3 mmPb | ≤ 200kV | High energy CT and angiography room |
| 20mm | ≈ 4.2 mmPb | ≈ 4.8 mmPb | ≤ 200kV | DSA intervention room, radiotherapy assisted |
| 25mm | ≈ 5.3 mmPb | ≈ 6.0 mmPb | ≤ 250kV | Nuclear medicine discipline, industrial flaw detection |
| 30mm | ≈ 6.3 mmPb | ≈ 7.2 mmPb | ≤ 300kV | High energy radiotherapy, nuclear facility observation window |
High transmittance: double-sided optical polishing, transmittance of 85% -90%, visual clarity close to ordinary window glass, convenient for medical staff to observe the patient's status in real time
Stable shielding: Lead equivalent 1.5-6.6mmPb/mm, shielding rate for 150kV X-rays ≥ 99.5%
Anti radiation and non fading: Introducing CeO ₂ stabilizer, long-term exposure to radiation does not change color or darken
Non combustible: made of inorganic glass material, Class A non combustible, meeting hospital fire safety regulations
Chemical stability: resistant to acid and alkali, disinfectants, and ultraviolet radiation disinfection
Machinability: Supports cutting, drilling, edging, chamfering, and can be made into discs, irregular parts, or glove box windows
