Product Definition
Radiation resistant lead blanket is a flexible radiation protection product, usually composed of an internal layer of lead or lead equivalent material and an external wear-resistant, fireproof, waterproof fabric coating layer. Its shape is similar to a regular blanket, but it has significant X-ray and gamma ray shielding capabilities, making it a commonly used portable radiation protection tool in medical, industrial non-destructive testing, nuclear emergency and other fields.

1. Local radiation protection of lead blanket (core function)
Lead blankets are mainly used for temporary radiation isolation of specific areas or personnel in scenarios where fixed shielding cannot be installed.
Typical application: Covering the patient's non examination areas (such as the reproductive gland, thyroid gland, lens) with a lead blanket, or shielding surrounding sensitive equipment or personnel to reduce scattered radiation exposure.
2. Space radiation isolation after hanging lead blanket
In an environment without fixed protective walls, lead blankets can be hung or laid to form a temporary "radiation barrier", limiting the range of radiation diffusion and reducing the radiation background level of the working environment.
3. Lead blanket emergency protection and nuclear pollution control
In the event of a nuclear accident or radioactive material leakage, it can be used for:
Covering suspected contaminated areas to prevent the spread of radioactive dust;
Package contaminated objects for subsequent transportation and disposal;
Provide temporary and rapid radiation protection coverage for rescue personnel.
4. Lead blankets are also used for protecting equipment and valuable materials
In high radiation environments, lead blankets can be used to cover nearby precision electronic devices (such as image detectors and circuit boards) to reduce interference or damage caused by radiation.
1. Internal structure (shielding layer) material type:
Traditional: Lead foil or lead powder rubber composite materials (low cost, good shielding performance).
Lead free substitution: Composite of heavy metals such as tungsten, bismuth, and barium with polymer materials (environmentally friendly, avoiding lead pollution).
2. Material requirements for external coating:
Wear resistant: high-strength fibers such as nylon and polyester.
Waterproof and stain resistant: The surface is coated with PU or treated with Teflon.
Flame retardant: meets UL 94 V 0 or equivalent fire protection standards.
3. Structural design features
Edge reinforcement tape: enhances tensile strength for easy fixation or suspension.
Optional accessories: Velcro, hanging loop, zipper, convenient for combination use or multi blanket splicing.
