Product usage scenarios:
Location: Hang a row at the entrance and exit of the channel type X-ray security screening machine (subway/high-speed rail/airport/logistics/court/hospital), with strips hanging down
Material: Lead containing rubber composite material (lead powder evenly dispersed in rubber substrate), or tungsten/barium lead-free substitute material
Key parameters: Channel port single piece lead rubber curtain ≥ 0.35mmPb; In reality, many devices use 0.25mmPb (low-energy) or 0.5mmPb (high demand scenarios)

Lock the X-ray inside the machine
When the security check machine is working, the internal X-ray source emits radiation that penetrates the luggage, and the detector receives the transmitted signal for imaging. But:
Other surfaces of the fuselage → hard shielding by internal lead plates/walls
Import and export are open → relying on lead rubber curtains for 'movable soft shielding'
1. Attenuation scattering leakage (most important)
X-rays will scatter in the channel, and luggage passing through will also 'bring out' some of the radiation. Lead atomic number is high (82), photons collide with lead:
Photoelectric absorption → energy is consumed
Compton scattering → multiple decays until it becomes impenetrable
✅ When the lead curtain is closed, press the leakage dose at the inlet and outlet to a distance of 5cm from the outer surface of ≤ 5 μ Gy/h (the national standard mandatory limit, and the measured qualified machine is usually less than 1 μ Gy/h)
2. Fill in the gap left by the lead wall
Machines cannot weld the inlet and outlet together, otherwise luggage cannot pass through. Lead curtain is a shielding compensation for "separating luggage and closing luggage":
Partial curtain strip on top of luggage → Other curtain strips still hang down to cover
Double layered staggered structure → reduces straight line leakage directly facing the gap
3. Together with interlocking and the body, it forms a compliance barrier
The lead curtain does not function alone, but together with the "key switch+emission indicator light+safety interlock+lead plate chamber":
| Risks/consequences after specific pain points for customers | Our solution | |
|---|---|---|
| Many lead curtains on the market only label "thickness 3mm" without indicating lead equivalent, resulting in uneven distribution of lead and lack of protection in some areas Radiation leakage exceeds the standard, radiation detection fails, facing regulatory penalties | Clearly label the lead equivalent (0.25/0.35/0.5/0.75mmPb), ensure that the protection data is authentic, verifiable, and acceptable, and eliminate false labeling | |
| Ordinary rubber curtains pretend to be lead curtains, with the same appearance but completely unobstructed from radiation Long term exposure of security personnel, occupational health risks, and public opinion accidents | Provide third-party inspection reports and spot check services upon arrival, and support on-site verification using radiographic testing equipment | |
| The universal size is either long or short when bought - if it's long, the conveyor belt will be long, but if it's short, there will be gaps left Long → machine malfunction shutdown; Short → radiation leaks from gaps, non-compliance with standards | Customized according to the size of the security inspection machine channel, providing measurement guidance, ready to use upon arrival, no downtime for rework, and no gaps or leaks | |
| Frequently scratched by luggage, with surface cracks and exposed lead layers Protection attenuation, lead powder may contaminate the environment, personnel exposure risk | Surface with polyurethane/Oxford cloth protective layer, tear resistant design, anti lead powder exposure, extends service life, and avoids secondary pollution | |
| Slitting and curling, the entire curtain runs with defects Partially unprotected, but still 'hanging' when viewed from the outside | Separated independent fixed structure, single damage can be replaced separately, without the need for complete scrap, reducing maintenance costs | |
| Some places (schools, laboratories, foreign-related projects) require lead-free/environmentally friendly materials Traditional lead curtains do not meet environmental procurement requirements | Provide an alternative solution for tungsten/barium composite lead-free soft curtains, with protection performance comparable to lead equivalent, environmentally compliant, and no reduction in protection | |
